Salman Nasir

Salman Nasir was born and raised in the United States. After obtaining a degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics from the University of South Alabama, he travelled to Umm al-Qura University to complete a further BA in Judicial Studies (Dirāsāt Qaḍā’īyyah). To complement this programme’s focus on Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, he studied other subjects, particularly Hadith and Tafsir, with respected scholars of Makkah. He pursues research in all these disciplines, and is presently submitting his Master’s thesis (also at Umm al-Qura) concerning Kitab al-Umm by Imam al-Shafi’i.

Sh. Salman has conducted private teaching for many years, and has recently delivered advanced classes on Tafsir, with particular emphasis on al-Tahrir wa-l-Tanwir by Imam Ibn ‘Ashur.
